Individual Coaching

Why individual coaching?

Thrive Coaching will help your teen uncover their unique strengths and talents so they can achieve their academic goals and live their best life inside and outside the classroom.

Initial sessions involve both the teen and the parent in identifying strengths, challenges, and desired goals and outcomes. After gathering data, we provide personized support in academic, executive functioning, and emotional regulation in an inclusive environment for middle and high school students in both traditional and non-traditional school settings by highly skilled teachers.

Who will benefit from individualized coaching?

  • Students who work best in small settings or with 1-on-1 instruction.
  • Students who want or need extra support and accountability from a coach/teacher who understands both HOW they learn and WHAT they are learning.
  • Students who need high levels of accountability, structure, and support.
  • Students who are smart, capable, creative, and full of potential but have hit a rut, can't "get it together," or are overwhelmed by the demands of middle or high school.
  • Students who want to do well, but wish it were easier to balance all the things!
  • Students with good intentions who struggle with motivation and communication with teachers and parents about what they need to be successful!

Do you offer virtual appointments?

Yes! Our individual weekly appointments are held via Zoom.

Group Coaching

What is different about group coaching?

The hallmarks of adolescent development center on both a unique sense of self AND the centrality of peer relationships. This helps us understand why our teens simultaneously push us away and glue themselves to friends who may or may not give the best advice when it comes to school or life in general!

Group coaching allows for a unique leveraging of the important social and emotional development that happens when teens connect. Teens gain reassurance in knowing that they are not the only ones going through challenges at school and gather remarkable confidence in being able to share what strategies and skills they have found to be effective.

Let our coaches help shape the conversations your teens are having by introducing new skills and strategies each week for the group to discuss and adapt to their specific situations. Our coaches help harness the desire for peer acceptance and influence by encouraging group members to hold each other accountable for healthy and responsible choices when it comes to school and life balance.

Just like our individual sessions, group coaching provides personized support in academic, executive functioning, and emotional regulation in an inclusive environment for middle and high school students in both traditional and non-traditional school settings.

Who will benefit from group coaching?

  • Students who work best in small settings and enjoy interacting with peers.
  • Students who need to feel like they are not alone in their challenges.

Do you offer virtual groups?

Yes! We offer both in-person group sessions in Brentwood and virtual group sessions on Zoom. *Please note that we require a minimum enrollment of 4 students to form a group around a specific set of skills.
